2008 Draft Standards and Guidelines for Animal Welfare
In May 2008, 'Draft Standards and Guidelines for Animal Welfare' were made available for public comment by the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and Animal Health Australia. The proposals strongly favoured the interests of the 'livestock industries', and a total of 70 submission were received from animal advocacy groups, individuals and industry.
